The University Club State College was founded in 1908 to foster sociality among town and gown residents living and working at Penn State and State College. In 1910, the Club was incorporated as a nonprofit corporation by PA. The historic building hosted over a century of social events for members and housing for students, faculty, and residents.  The COVID-19 pandemic, growth in private student housing market, and the aging condition of the building resulted in the sale of the building to Penn State University in 2022.

Today, The University Club is continuing its missions in downtown State College. Our missions promote sociality among its  members and preserve the historic and cultural significance of the University Club Inc. to State College and Centre County. We also host Penn State history major interns who conduct research on our archives, under the direction of University Archivist/Librarian Emerita Jackie Esposito.

Thank you everyone for all the great memories and longtime support.
