What are the different lease options?

We provide one-year leases, nine-month leases, and summer session leases. Please note that higher priority will be given to one-year lease applicants.

How to apply?

In order to apply for a room at the University Club, you need to do the following:

Is it guaranteed that I will be assigned a room once I turn in my application and deposit?

No. The University Club reserve all rights to accept and reject an application.

  • In order to run your application, you must submit the security deposit. If your application is accepted, you will get a notice from the General Manager, and a Lease will be issued. This Lease Agreement must be returned within 24 hours to complete the leasing and application process. If you fail to do so, your room reservation will be canceled and your deposit may be refunded.

Can I apply for the semester lease?

9 month or One year Leases are available; a limited number of short-term leases may be available at times.  Sublets are permitted.

Do you have a parking space for me? How much does it cost?

Answer: Yes, we have parking space available for long-term (one-year and nine-month) residents at $55/mo and $75/mo for non-resident. If you have questions about the parking spaces, please email uclubmanager@gmail.com.

Can I sublet my room?

Yes, however, all sublets must be approved by the board of directors. Please speak to the manager.

Can I share my room with a friend?

Our rooms are designed to accommodate one person.  You are welcome to have guests for up to 2 weeks, with approval of the Manager.

What’s the setting of the bathroom? How many people share the bathroom? What about the cleaning?

Each floor has two or three bathrooms to be shared among the residents (8-9) on that floor. Each bathroom contains a toilet, sink, and private shower. Our housekeeping staff cleans common areas every day and the bathrooms every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Are you on-campus? How can I find the University Club?

We sit on West College Avenue, on campus. We are one block away from the Hammond Building. It is about a 4-minute walk to Old Main building. Please see our location page.

Can I come and take a look at the place?

I am a short-term visitor, what are my rental choices?

Some short term leases are often available.  Please complete the contact form to inquire about availability.

For short-term renting, the minimum requirement of stay is one week (6 nights). In order to apply, you need to fill out an application form. The rent is calculated by day (please refer to the room rental page for detailed rate information). Therefore, the total cost depends on the exact dates that you will stay at the University Club. In order to reserve a room, the total expenses for the entire stay must be paid in advance. Please note that all reservations are final. There will be NO REFUND upon cancellation.

Is there a membership fee?

There is no membership fee for resident members.  It is included at no charge as part of lease payment.  This gives our residents access to all of the great events that our social committee hosts each month!

When my lease terminates, do I get the security deposit back?

When you move in, the Manager will verify the condition of the room. If the condition of all items is the same when you checkout, you will receive a full refund. Otherwise, you will be charged according to the price of each damaged item and we will refund the rest of the security deposit to you.  All refunds are by check only and will be mailed to the address provided upon checking out.  The University Club does not do domestic or international wire transfers or credit card refunds for the return of the deposit.  The refund will be returned within 30 days AFTER the lease end date and vacating the property. If refunds have not been received with in 30 days to contact uclubmanager@gmail.com for information. 

What is the procedure to obtain my security deposit?

You will need to schedule a check out of your room with our Hospitality staff up to one week prior to your move out date, and fill in the “Security Deposit Refund Forwarding Address Form” and return it to the Manager before you leave. It is your responsibility to make sure that the address on the form is correct and it is received properly.  All refunds are by check only and will be mailed to the address provided upon checking out.  The University Club does not do domestic or international wire transfers or credit card refunds for the return of the deposit.  The refund will be returned within 30 days AFTER the lease end date and vacating the property. If refunds have not been received with in 30 days to contact uclubmanager@gmail.com for information. 

How long does it take to get my security deposit refund?

If you turn in the forwarding address form properly, you should get the refund within one month. If you fail to provide the correct forwarding address information, the refund process will be delayed.

Do all the rooms have the same size and setting?

All rooms have similar furniture settings but the room size may vary slightly. A typical size room is 11′ x 13′. Each room has the following: a twin-size bed, a dresser, a desk, a chair, a mirror, a trash bin, and a closet.

Can I choose a room when I sign my lease?

In general, no. You will be assigned a room according to the availability. However, we will try our best to accommodate your request.

How can I pay for the rent?

Your rent is automatically due on the first of each month with an exception of your first month rent which is due one week prior to residency.  Any late rent payments beyond the fifth day of the month will accrue a late fee of $15 per day retroactive to the first of the month. We accept personal checks, money orders or credit/debit card. Do you have Internet access in every room?

The house is equipped with wireless internet.

Can I have pets?

No.

I need to move in earlier (or later) than the date the lease starts. What can I do?

Leases begin and end on the first day and the 25th day of each month regardless of academic semester start times.  We do NOT allow early check ins, all check ins must be scheduled during business hours, Monday – Friday 9;00 am – 5:00 pm on or after the start date of your Lease Agreement. We do not prorate any month based on early check outs. You are responsible for your lease through the end of the lease term listed in your Lease Agreement. In order to receive your room keys you MUST make your Security Deposit Payment AND your first month’s rent payment, if these payments are not made, we will not issue your room keys.

Do you only accept graduate students and faculty and Staff?

No, although most of our residents are graduate students or faculty.  All professionals over age 21 are welcome to apply.
